Celebrating Beauty, Nature Art and Aesthetics

Our theme for August comes from Centers for Spiritual Living Global Vision. "We envision a world which has renewed its emphasis on beauty, nature, and love through the
resurgence of creativity, art, and aesthetics."

It comes from our Organizational Design Model which is a "visionary and philosophical guide and governing document for our organization's expression internally and outwardly in the world. The Organizational Design Model is offered in the spirit of collaboration, innovation, creativity, and forward thinking. It is designed to create an organization for Centers for Spiritual Living,  that is effective for, and reflective of, a 21st century spiritual movement."

I had a conversation recently with one of my dearest friends who was gently questioning whether our intention  of having a world that works for everyone is "off principle." Her point is that each of us is experiencing in the outer world exactly what we have come to expect in the inner world. In other words, we already have a world that works for everyone. She was asking how I could imagine a world that works for Isis' extremists. I can only imagine that if the extremists from any religion got in touch with their founder's intention, they  would see a bigger and more inclusive philosophy than is currently their mission.

I KNOW my friend is accurate AND regardless of extremists and haters, I envision I world at peace. A world at peace is a world that works for everyone from my perspective.

"When there is no vision, the people perish." Proverbs 29:16

For years we closed with "The Peace Song" which stated, "Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." Just because there isn't peace now and some radicals don't want peace, is no reason not to pray for world peace in our lifetimes. we conclude  Wednesday's Wisdom by singing "Imagine" usually along with John Lennon. We sing with conviction, "The world will live as one." Just because we have not yet achieved, perfect unity and peace is no reason to stop envisioning it.

Just because I may not be able too see the beauty around me or to feel the love or to appreciate nature, there is no reason fro me to stop working toward it.

We do our work first in consciousness, then we learn to take appropriate actions that support our desires. What those actions are will differ from person to person.

Meanwhile, please join me in moving ahead with optimism and goodwill, towards our vision. Look for evidence from our artists and artisans that we are currently enjoying a resurgence of creativity, art and aesthetics.

Art Workshop with Psychic and Local Medium Ginger Roberts

a girls night out celebrating creativity with psychic Ginger Roberts
Come explore your creativity.
The Center for Spiritual Living Capistrano Valley Women's Group welcomes Ginger Roberts, local medium/psychic, to our upcoming Girls Night Out on Friday, February 7, 7 p.m., for an art workshop designed to open participants up to information from their higher selves.

Women of all ages are welcome to attend the group's gathering and participate in a psychic/intuitive art class with emphasis on self-love led by Roberts. Cost for the workshop is $5 for materials. The workshop, called The Shape of Emotions, will teach participants to work with color meditation and our higher selves to receive guidance and learn to love ourselves more fully.

Roberts is a local, clairsentient and clairvoyant medium who works with guidance from her spirit guides. Following in the footsteps on her mentor, famed English medium Robert Brown, Ginger has studied mediumship for more than 10 years and attended numerous Brown workshops and retreats.

For more information or to RSVP for the event, email AmyGreenroyd@gmail.com. The event will be held at our Center, 1201 Puerta Del Sol in San Clemente.

WHAT BRILLIANCE IS TRYING TO EXPLODE THROUGH YOU?

“Art is when you hear a knocking from your soul — and you answer.”   ~Terri Guillemets

There It is...knocking at the door of your heart, tapping at the thresh hold of your mind, silently screaming from the depths of your soul, pestering you to let It in...What is this?

This thing is simply your own splendor urging to express itself through you.  It is your divine nature attempting to make its contribution to the world, and when it is blocked or disregarded, it can show up in life as discontentment, anger, depression, etc...

The beautiful artwork you see above was created by artist, poet and graphic designer, Eric Hart Samuelson.  I met Eric for the first time in 2009 when we took an extensive 2+ year long class together.  In that class of 12 students, we all spent numerous hours together learning, growing, and really getting to know each other (a life-long bond we will all forever share and cherish).  But most importantly, we began to learn and unleash things about ourselves that were  buried beneath old beliefs and shaded by the expectations of others.  During one of our class projects, I got to see, first-hand and for the first time, the brilliance that was Eric's artwork.  Not that we were competing with each other, but his project totally blew everyone out of the water!

Why am I writing about this?  As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”  We all have a brilliance that is urging to express through us.  It may be deeply hidden away within ourselves or simply waiting to surface by means of our own receptivity to it.  Eric's calling laid dormant for a while and finally surfaced while doing some inner work.  Thank goodness he listened to his divine urges or we wouldn't be experiencing his exquisite artwork.  If you hear that knocking from your soul, open the door and see what's waiting to come through you.  The world deserves to see your gift!

Please check out the rest of Eric's artwork and let him know how much you appreciate his gifts:
