Let's Peace the World Together
I LOVE this picture! It shows Krishna, Buddha, Mohammed, Jesus and Moses holding hands. They have hearts in their hands!
The title of the picture is "Let's Peace the World Together." Some of the golden threads of truth that run through all religions is Love and Peace. What a great time of year to remember to love our neighbor!
There are fundamentalists in every religion who say that their way is the only way! I cannot imagine the Buddha saying that if you were did not practice his way, you would be damned. In fact, I cannot imagine any one of them telling their followers to kill in the name of religion. Yet over the centuries, there have been many wars fought over religion.
I think it is time to stop.
I can't change anyone else but I can change myself. I open my heart to love more than ever before. I open my ears to be a better listener, to listen to what lies behind the words, what beliefs are being shown.
And I can choose my words to be those of peace and love.
Today is the day. Let's give peace a chance. Let's peace the world together.

Forgiveness is the Ultimate Untapped Super Power
![]() |
| “Holding onto anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one getting burned.” ~Buddha |
If you are looking for greater success and abundance there is going to be forgiveness work involved. If you are trying to improve your relationships or searching for world peace some spiritual leader is going to remind you that you need to forgive.
You need to forgive the large and the small. There is simply no escape.
Forgiveness is the spiritual work to be done. It's the push up your sleeves and "get 'er done" stuff. It's where we feel resistance. And it seems so illogical to resist the very spiritual practice that promises so very very much.
Forgiveness is something you do for yourself. Forgiveness frees you to live life more fully and more joyously. Forgiveness adds power to your prayers and unleashes your creativity.
What's not to love about forgiveness!
Geez ... it's like a freekin' super power.
Oh but how, but how, but how??? What if I am just not feeling it? And how do you know when you are done? What if you recognize all the great gifts of forgivenss but you still can't bring yourself to do it? Where do you start?
Do you have a Forgiveness Practice?
You gotta practice to get good at anything. Why not practice forgiveness? What would a Forgiveness Practice look like?
Search your heart every day and honestly ask yourself "did I close my heart to anyone today?" You can use some of these tools to antedote yourself a little every day.
Oh and don't forget yourself in all this forgiving. It may be the most important work of all.
- Try a Forgiveness Meditation. There are meditation tapes out there for the very purpose of forgiveness. Here is a Forgiveness Meditation from Jack Kornfield.
- Trade resentment for gratitude. Did you know you can't feel both resentment and gratitude at the same time? Make a litany written or spoken of all that you are grateful for regarding the situation.
- Write a forgiveness letter, you don't have to send it but start writing it now.
- If writing isn't your thing use your imagination and set that person in a chair before you and talk to them. Work it out in your own heart.
- When all else fails ask for help. (I always forget this one for some reason, it's not like it isn't for a good cause.)
Forgiving isn't forgeting. In fact remembering all that transpired and no longer being "hooked" by the memory is your indication that your forgiveness work is complete. Sometimes it takes a few rounds but with all that's promised you know that it's worth the effort.

What's Up With Buddha Anyway?
My days were getting chaotic.
The kids have been out of school.
They are bored with beaches, the pool and bike riding.
I was getting impatient.
What's a girl to do?
Paint!
Just as the Dalai Lama has said, the busier he is the more he meditates.
Painting has become a kind of meditation for me.
I turn on some classical music, and I allow my intuition to guide me to what to paint, what colors to use and for how long.
I let go of any frustration. Any distractions and simply allow myself the calming energy of just being in that moment.
Maybe it's because I secretly wished I could spend 40 days under a tree meditating to find some peace, I decided to paint Buddha.
It is my first attempt at it, however, I contemplated Buddha's life as I did it.
Leaving his life of privilege, his wife and son, he set out on a journey to find the meaning of life and, well, as we know, he found it and thousands of years later, we are learning to incorporate his teachings in a life very different from the one he knew.
As I contemplated further, I became aware of the peace within me.
My boys were still playing trains on the floor. The weedwackers were still running outside. My phone was still buzzing and vibrating as text messages and emails rolled in, however, as I honed in on my painting and the next color I'd choose, I found myself at peace....
...the very God quality I have been affirming for myself for weeks now...

...the very God quality I have been affirming for myself for weeks now...
...and there I was....in peace. I mean, really in peace.
What I came to realize is that, although I wouldn't choose to leave my family and sit under a Bodhi tree choose to meditate...
for 40 days to find the meaning of life, it comes to me in those moments when I do
for 40 days to find the meaning of life, it comes to me in those moments when I do
....my meditations might be traditional in the early morning hours of the day, or they may be painting, or taking a walk, or driving in my car to the grocery store in utter silence.
The meaning of life, to me, is inner peace.
I experienced it while channeling and painting my inner Buddha....it's not a perfect rendition of Buddha's face, nor does it reflect that talents of many artists who have painted his face prior to me...
....but what it does reflect is a brief glimpse into his ultimate realization that changed the world for thousands of years and will continue to change it for thousands more....so it got me wondering...
....what magic can I make in this world because of my realization amidst the "chaos" of 21st Century living?
Here's what I came up with...
I'm pretty sure I can make magic happen in this world. I'm pretty sure I can make a mark in the world as big as Buddha's and I'm pretty sure you can to...
Mark your calendars for October because we're about to announce a magical month that will enlighten you to the magic you can make happen in this world!
Yes, you, my dear....your magic is needed as badly as Buddha's has been needed and CSLCV is gonna rock out YOUR magic in October! Stay tuned....
