What ran through my head as we celebrated our freedom as a country is that, although we do have freedom to live the way we would like, most Americans do not live in freedom.
They are tied to jobs they dislike, they suffer from depression, anxiety, stress, they are unhealthy, overweight, in financial ruin; they truly live in a prison in their own minds.
As hard as this might be to hear, especially if you suffer from one of the challenges above, it is very easy to use blame or excuses to push away the fact that everything in our lives is created by us.
The freedom comes when we recognize that we have the freedom to change each circumstance with our thoughts and with affirmative prayer.
It's as simple as holding a vision for that very area of your life you'd like to change. Feel what it would be like to let it go and accept something grander and more fulfilling. Pray affirmatively expressing gratitude for already having it and watch it unfold in your life.
We have the freedom to re-create our lives, or any part of it, at any time.
So, as I sat last night, I found one area of my life I have to change. Today I prayed on it and then wrote this blog post knowing that in some way, that part of my life will start to change...today. Today, let's celebrate our freedom.
Our freedom within to choose. Our free will that allows us to express our greatest gifts. Our freedom to "show 'em what you're worth!"
